Toronto Star to Protest

Please send a letter to the editor of the Toronto Star to protest
this biased series of articles it published on Cuba.

Regarding your "The Ugly Canadians" series*
It’s unethical for The Star to co-write a series of articles about Cuba with a reporter from The Miami Herald, citing mostly sources that the articles themselves describe as “dissidents”.
In fact, the Freedom of Information Act uncovered a number of Miami Herald reporters who had accepted payment from the U.S. government to write biased articles on the Cuban Five (five Cubans who had infiltrated terrorist groups in Miami –groups that have caused the deaths of 3478 people and maimed over 2099 to date– in order to prevent further deaths, by notifying the Cuban government of terrorist attacks planned by these groups). Some of the deaths that these terrorist groups are guilty of consist of torturing and assassinating Cuban teens during the literacy campaign, simply because they had volunteered to teach others how to read and write.
Cuba has been recognized by international organizations such as UNICEF, Save the Children, UNESCO as a model for its dedication to children’s well-being and Cuban law establishes and enforces a penalty of 20 to 30 years’ imprisonment for such crimes.
You should investigate why a self-confessed mastermind of a plane bombing that killed 73 people (including many young members of Cuba’s fencing team) in 1976, is walking freely in Miami and not facing justice for his crimes, instead of trying to tarnish Cuba’s shining example with your propaganda.
