Popular DNA Testing Company Signs $300 Million Deal With Big Pharmaceutical Company

It might be time for people to reconsider before they spit in a tube. Online genetic testing services are wildly popular. Many people use services such as 23andMe and Ancestry.com to learn about their ancestral pasts. Many also use these services to gain more profound insights into their biological makeup, which is often used to assess risk for degenerative diseases, such as cancer. This information offers use for more trivial insights, such as a person’s rate of metabolism in concern with substances such as caffeine.

Pharmaceutical companies with access to such genetic information would be able to develop new products in more efficient ways.

GlaxoSmithKline, seeking to take advantage of just that, has announced a four year deal with 23andMe that allows them access to everyone’s genetic information for precisely the purposes pertaining to drug research.

In some ways, it was obtuse or naive to assume the online genetic testing frenzy was ever to end well.

When the anti-vaccination movement began to slip through the crevices of Hollywood, Pharmaceutical companies became terrified. For decades, they’d had Hollywood’s influence in their back pocket. Suddenly, however, Jenny McCarthy was upsetting the apple cart. But it wasn’t just McCarthy, many of Hollywood directors and actresses began to delay or even completely reject vaccines. In 2012, Amanda Peet rose from the ashes of her dead career and suddenly began advocating vaccines. 

Peet’s central theme was that her brother-in-law, a “well-respected researcher at Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia” was more qualified to advise her on her children’s vaccinations. It was a slight to her Hollywood colleagues who, again, at the time, were skeptical. Peet was immediately and shamelessly convinced that being skeptical of, or questioning pharmaceutical companies, was a criminal act. So she acted at the command of her Researcher brother-in-law and made a video disparaging the anti-vaccination movement as a whole. 

“all my friends weren’t vaccinating their children, so like with all things with my children, I would defer them to my brother-in-law,” Peet recalls of her time deciding if she should vaccinate her children. “It’s so bewildering and frustrating, that we have the medicine, and it’s just not getting to children,” she continues.

What Pharma Doesn’t Want You To Know About Cancer

The word “cancer” is terrifying. No matter if it is your own cancer or someone you care about, the word sends devastation down our spines. Cancer is a type of evil that is unimaginable to most folks unless they’ve been through it (or seen someone go through it).

But an interesting thought is, what is “going through cancer?” Have you ever asked yourself that? I know that sounds like a ridiculous assertion, but the truth is, it is a reasonable inquiry. I’m not trying to be philosophical here, but really consider, what is “going through cancer?” When someone says they “went through cancer” or “battled cancer,” have you ever asked yourself what that battle consisted of?

Let’s get specific here: most people who have “battled cancer” will ultimately tell you that they were nauseous and vomited and lost their hair. The reality here is that people actually just battled chemotherapy.

Chemotherapy causes the aforementioned side-effects, not typically cancer. But pharmaceutical companies are none-the-less obliged to promote a sort of reverse engineering. The terrible picture painted of cancer is most often the results of chemotherapy.

This isn’t to say that cancer isn’t deadly, it most certainly is, but it isn’t as reliant on chemotherapy as pharma would have you believe and nor is it “not preventable.” It is indeed preventable. And it can be treated without chemotherapy.

After watching the video series, The Truth About Cancer, I was overwhelmed by the fact that pharmaceuticals bury the truth. It is inexcusable. All the suffering is needless. All the suffering is for padding the pockets of pharmaceutical executives who don’t give a damn about anyone but themselves.

I’m a survivor. I owe so much to Truth About Cancer. I was once a slave to pharma’s subjugation, now I’m a free thinker who has been enlightened by the truth.

Most people who advocate vaccines do so because their Doctors have told them that all vaccines are safe. People trust Doctors. I want to be clear when I say this; I think the medical world, Doctors included, are excellent. But I believe that medical space and reach should be limited. Doctors just aren’t educated on vaccines in Medical School. And their influence from Pharmaceutical companies is distressing.

Doctors have a history of blasphemous, carnival-like promotions. But it seems most of us don’t want to pay attention to history. So whenever I take too much grief over not vaccinating my children, I pass these five images along.

Pharmaceutical companies act under an umbrella of protective immunity when it comes to Vaccines, but they are aggressive with almost all their medications. They fear hardly any repercussions for making “mistakes,” which often cost human lives. Because pharmaceutical companies fear little in the way of responsive litigation, they really act on their own free will. Part of that free will using people as their own guinea pigs for testing medications.

When it comes to medications, the typical protocol is to perform a series of safety test which, presumably, would lower the risk for people getting harmed by the medications. But often time those “test” are actually just the act of releasing them and “seeing how it goes.” Take an example from 2006, when the FDA forced Impax Laboratories to take Wellbutrin XL off the market. The reason? The FDA says that Wellbutrin XL simply did not work. But worse more? While it may sound as if the procedure worked perfectly, the fact is that Wellbutrin XL had been on the market, in a failed capacity, for 5 years. The FDA ignored a failed medication for 5 years.
