Alicia Silverstone, best known for her role as Cher in the
blockbuster hit movie, Clueless, is also an advocate for alternative
health. She’s endured plenty of mainstream condemnation over the
matter but has yet to waiver in her beliefs. Her commitment to her
various causes, including anti-vaccination and anti-sunscreen, are on
full display on her The Kind Life Blog.
Earlier last week, her blog emailed members of the site and alerted
them of a meet up taking place in Australia. She wanted to raise
awareness over the issue of vaccinating pregnant women, which she claims
is linked to autism.
We are trying to organise a kind life meetup so Alicia can connect in
person with you all,’ an email invitation to her followers said:
‘We’d like to keep it low key so please refrain from spreading the word, but if you have a vegan friend who you think would be interested in meeting other veg heads or want to bring your kids, that’s totally fine!’

One of the attendees of the meetup described Silverstone as ‘very
sweet and generous to spend time with us during her vacation and is a
wonderful vegan advocate for a kind world’. Her and her musician
husband, Chris Jarecki, are on vacation in Australia. One of
Silverstone’s latest projects is an awareness campaign whereas she calls
most animal sanctuaries, including the ones housing Koala bears, as
“just zoos.” She’s been more than up front about her feelings over the
issue on Instagram.
Of course, her latest meetup came with condemnation of its own, including an article in the Daily Mail with called her “just clueless.”
