Summer is upon us. Kids are soon to be out of school. Barbecue units are being dusted off, or loaded up in the back of trucks and taken home from Home Depot. Flowers have bloomed, the lawns have been cut, some kid has drunk from a water hose. So what about those sunscreen ingredients and what is the best natural sunscreen?

How was that for a fancy introduction? I felt good about it. One thing which has bothered me about summer for all my life is that summer is also the introduction of massive sunscreen and sunblock marketing. The truth is, I’ve rarely in my life worn sunscreen and I’ve spent a lot of time in the sun. I’ve likely pushed the limits of my sun exposure, no doubt, by hanging out in some of the more intense sun exposure times without cover. I was a bit of a sun rebel, I suppose you could say.

In the heliocentric model, Earth is just one of 8 “planets” in our “solar system,” all of which are said to be huge spherical Earth-like habitations or globular gas giants millions of miles away.  They claim the Earth under our feet along with these 7 other planets all revolve concentric circles/ellipses around the Sun - hence the term “heliocentric.”  The previously prevailing “geocentric” model had placed the Earth as the immovable center of the universe with the Sun, Moon, stars and “planets” all revolving around us, just as they appear.  In the heliocentric model, however, which would be more appropriately titled the “Acentric” model, the Sun is only the center of our “solar system,” while itself supposedly simultaneously revolving 500,000 mph spirals around the “Milky Way galaxy” which itself is constantly shooting 670,000,000 mph away from an alleged “Big Bang” creationary explosion at the beginning of time!

LONDON (Reuters) - Buckingham Palace scolded Rupert Murdoch's top-selling Sun tabloid on Saturday for publishing a previously unknown film from 1933 that appears to show Britain's Queen Elizabeth performing a Nazi salute as a young girl.

The black-and-white film from the year Adolf Hitler came to power purports to show future British king Edward VIII instructing his nieces, the current monarch Elizabeth, aged about six or seven at the time, and her three-year-old sister, Princess Margaret, how to perform the Nazi salute.

Food Allergies Linked with Lack of Vitamin D and Sunshine

We already knew sunshine and vitamin D were important to health - given the over 70 diseases now associated with their deficiency. Now research is proving their role in food allergies.

Researchers from the University of Melbourne have determined that children who had lower levels of vitamin D are more likely to have multiple food allergies.

The researchers tested 5,276 one year-old children. They gave the children skin prick tests to determine their allergies to peanuts, eggs, sesame, cow's milk or shrimp. They also analyzed blood samples from 577 children, of which 344 had food allergies and 74 more sensitized but tolerant.

Australian children with parents who were vitamin D deficient were over 11 times more likely to have peanut allergens and nearly four times more likely to have a the allergies when compared to those who had healthy levels of vitamin D.

Overall, infants who were vitamin D deficient were over 10 times more likely to have multiple food allergies – meaning being allergic to more than two foods.

The researchers quantified vitamin D deficiency as having less than 50 and nmol/L of 25-hydroxyvitamin D in their blood, as measured by liquid chromatography with mass spectrometry.

The researchers wrote in their conclusion:

These results provide the first direct evidence that vitamin D sufficiency may be an important protective factor for food allergy in the first year of life."
