WHO SHOULD GET THE GOLD MEDAL FOR THE "UGLIEST AMERICAN" IN RIO?
Though it might seem hypocritical for a former juvenile delinquent and a former shelter cat to be casting dispersions on the behavior of today's "millennial" generation of Americans; let us say that even at the worst of our wilder days gone by, we would never, especially on a grand "world stage" in soneone else's home, have acted as disrespectfully, as stupidly, and as "ugly" as some of the young American Olympians did in Rio. It's going to be a tough call in awarding the "Gold Medal" for "ugliest" American athlete, so we will leave it up to our readers to choose the winner --- or shall we say, the loser?
The contestants are:
Hope Solo
Before the games had even started, women's team soccer goalie and long time drama-queen Hope Solo (35) offended "Zika infected" Brazil by posting a "selfie" while wearing a mosquito mask and holding a bottle of insect repellent. Brazilian spectators, undertandably offended, heckled her throughout the games.
But Solo's ugliness didn't end there. After the U.S. was unexpectedly eliminated by a weaker Swedish team, sore loser Solo shocked everyone by lashing out during a press conference: "We lost to a bunch of cowards. The best team did not win today."
Attention-whore Solo began the games acting like an ass --- and ended acting like an even bigger ass.
Gabby Douglas
The 2012 Gold Medal winning gymnast again made a strong showing, but failed to advance to the final round when two fellow Americans (Simone Biles and Aly Raisman) scored slighty higher than her. Rather than cheer for her teammates as they competed for the Gold Medal, Douglass, 20, sat quietly and pouted.
As the best all-around national team of individual performers, Douglas and her team mates did win a Gold Medal. As the national anthem played for the winners on the stand, Douglas appeared to be pouting and was the only girl who didn't place her hand over her heart.
After having been elimated, sore loser Douglas had no desire to honor the national anthem nor to cheer for her teammates. Notice how disinterested she is as her other teammates (who had also been eliminated) cheer on for the remaining American girls.
